Xiaomi Announces US$4.2 Billion Investment in R&D Development by 2025

At the recent Beijing’s Haidian District Economic and Social High-Quality Development Conference, Xiaomi's CEO Lei Jun emphasised the importance of corporate confidence and research and development (R&D) investment.

Lei Jun highlighted the necessity for companies to uphold confidence in China's technological innovation and market potential amidst challenges. To bolster this belief, Xiaomi has committed to investing RMB 105 billion ($14.5 billion) in core technology R&D from 2021 to 2025, with RMB 30 billion ($4.2 billion) earmarked for 2025 alone. This substantial investment underscores Xiaomi's dedication to fostering innovation and sustaining its global competitive position.
